“Oh, that’s all you want from me? Just to keep quiet for a month?”

“Oh yes,” I gush. “One month will allow me to prove myself to Jack and so when I tell him the truth he may still let me keep the job. And if not, it still gives me a month to find a job before my next rent is due and Anna may have a job by then!”

“So, what do I get if I keep your secret?”

“Uhm,” I look at him curiously. “I don’t know. Whatever you want I guess?” He wasn’t going to ask me for money was he? Not after my hard luck story.

“Whatever I want? Hmmm.” Hamilton licked his lips and I shivered. “I don’t know if you should make statements you cannot keep Jenny.”

“Oh.”

Hamilton got up and closed the door to his office and came and sat in the chair next to mine. “In fact, I don’t think you have been very wise at all.” He picked up my right hand as I gazed at him.

“Oh?”

“You see dear Jenny,” he spoke gently as he kissed my hand. “You see, I don’t know if I can keep this secret.”

I mouthed a silent “oh” as he put one of my fingers in his mouth and sucked on it. I wanted to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t in the Twilight Zone. What the hell was going on here?

As he nibbled on my finger his other hand came up and unbuttoned the top buttons on my shirt. I gasped and attempted to brush his hand away as it trailed down my chest burning a path and a hunger in me.

“What, what are you doing?” I stare into his eyes, so close to mine.

“Whatever I want.” He grins at me and his hand caresses my left breast. Unconsciously my body presses into him.

“Oh, I didn’t mean…” I suddenly feel bereft as he moves his hand away. He kisses me on the forehead and stands up.

“I know Jenny. I know but I had to teach you a little lesson. I hope you don’t go promising men whatever they want anymore.” I want to shout at him and call him an ass for what he just did but I keep my mouth shut and seethe inside, hopefully I wouldn’t have to deal with his pomposity for much longer.

“I think you should call Jack now please.” I attempt to talk with some dignity as I did up the buttons of my shirt.

“I don’t think so Jenny. I think you will work for me for the next month”. What?

“Uh, I don’t think you can make those kinds of decisions.” I grab my briefcase and decide to go and find the HR office.

“Actually, I think I can Jenny. I think I can.”

I turn around and look at him, the amusement in his voice annoying me.

“What do you mean?”

“I’m Hamilton Verona.” He looks at me smugly.

“So?” I look at him blankly, his name meaning nothing to me.

“Hamilton Verona.” He repeats again. And then I think back to my arrival at the office. Oh shit, this was the Verona building. Which must mean he owns the building, oh shit, he wasn’t just an executive, he was the boss.

“Oh.” I feel the color drain from my face. I had just told my boss, well the big boss, that I had lied to get the job and that I was desperate for money. Real smart Jenny. I guess it was back to Florida for me.

“Sorry. I didn’t realize.” I look down at the floor embarrassed.

“Well, Jenny. While I generally don’t look kindly on liars in my company, I think we can work something out.”

Chapter 3

Jenny looked at me nervously. I could tell that she was wondering what my suggestion was going to be. She was fiddling with her fingers. I wondered if she was doing it on purpose knowing how badly I wanted to suck on them again. I thought back to her heavy breathing just a few minutes ago when I had cradled her breast. I thought she was going to shout or push me away but she had pushed her body into my hands.

I didn’t understand what I was doing. I was old enough to know better and I knew this girl didn’t understand the sort of world I lived in. High stakes money, deals and sex was just sex. I wasn’t looking for a relationship. I didn’t have time. Especially not for any gold-diggers trying to get their hands on my hard earned money. Though I didn’t think that Jenny was a gold-digger. She didn’t seem the sort. Unless she was a very good actress.

“Do you have a boyfriend Jenny?” I looked at her keenly.

“Uhm, no Mr. Verano.” She mumbled at me confused.

“Call me Hamilton, no need to go to formalities now.”

“Ok Hamilton.”

“I have a proposition for you Jenny. I can’t in good faith allow you to be the social media director. Not now that I know the truth.”

“I understand.” She looked disappointed.

“But, I can allow you to be my personal assistant.”

“But, I don’t have that experience.”

“You seem like a quick learner. I will give you a month to prove yourself.” I looked at her as she bit her lip, I could tell that she wasn’t sure this new position was a good idea. Good, she was smarter than I thought. While I wanted her in my bed, I didn’t want to think I was taking advantage of her.

“I will even give you a bonus of ones months rent in advance.” I grabbed into my wallet and grabbed $3000 in notes and passed it to her across the desk.  She looked at it hesitatingly.

“I don’t need you worrying about money. Consider it yours to keep, no matter what happens.”

“Oh, but I couldn’t.”

“I’m a very rich man Jenny, this is nothing to me. I make this every about every minute.”

“Oh.”

“I want you to take it, no strings attached. Because you may decide when you hear the rest of my proposition that you don’t want to come back. And I do not want you coming back tomorrow because you need to pay the rent.”

She looked at me confused. I paused before I went on. Was I really going to do this?

“You see Jenny, I want you as more than an assistant. I want you as a playmate.” Her eyes nearly popped out of her head at my words.

“I’m a very rich man Jenny, I have needs and I don’t have the time or want for a girlfriend. I want someone who is here to satisfy my needs whenever I want. And I think that the perfect person would be my assistant.”

“Oh.” Jenny looked at me in shock. I had a feeling that she wouldn’t be coming back the next day and that annoyed me.

“It’s not just about my pleasure though, I would of course please you as well.” I tried to look into her eyes but she was avoiding my gaze.
