Blind Devotion (Page 33)

“They’re part of The Skulls. Tate is Tiny’s oldest daughter. If this hit went out then everyone is f**ked.” He cleaned between her thighs. “I’m going to ask you to stay in bed. I don’t need to be worrying about you when club business is about to go down.”

“What about my mom? Death and Curse took her, didn’t they? How come no one has heard anything?” she asked, panicking.

“I’ll get Lexie to stop by. You’ve got to stop worrying, as otherwise you’re going to start losing your mind.” He leaned down, kissing her temple. “Please, stop worrying. I’ll find your mother. You wouldn’t want any of them answering the phone while they’re on their bikes, would you?” he asked.

She shook her head.

He wasn’t about to tell her that they’d gone in a car. Kissing her head a final time, he eased out of the room. Walking up the flight of stairs, he knocked on Devil’s door. Lexie answered, looking tired. She held Elizabeth in her arms. “Could you go and sit with Sasha? She’s panicking.”

“Is it true? They can’t reach Curse and Death?”

“I don’t know for sure. It’s what Ripper told me. Her mother was traveling with them. I’d appreciate it if you didn’t mention anything to her.”

“I won’t. You can’t keep something like this from her, Pussy,” Lexie said, gripping Simon’s hand as she made the way out of the room.

“I know. I don’t want to worry her until I have to.”

He charged downstairs to find the rest of his brothers stood in the main room. Devil was on the phone, pacing the room. “We’re taking them down whether you like it or not. I’m not going to be afraid of shit.” Devil hung up, looking at each of them.

“What’s going on?” Ripper asked.

“Tiny decided to pay a little visit to the f**ker who hurt his woman. The cop who raided the clubhouse a couple of months ago. Within ten minutes a hit was ordered on Tate. They were traveling back from the shopping center with groceries. The car was rained with bullets. Their son came out of it unscathed. Murphy was shot in the shoulder. He lost control of the car, and Tate in her panic released the seatbelt to protect their son. She’s in a coma, and it’s not looking good.” Devil threw his cell phone. The device landed on the floor, shattering at their feet. “This is it. I mean it, boys. I’m done playing this game.”

Folding his arms, Pussy stared at his boss, waiting to see what was going to happen.

“We’re the Chaos Bleeds crew, and it’s time to end this peace-keeping shit we’ve been doing.”

“What about Curse and Death? Where are they?”

“They’re at the rehab center. Someone tried to whack them. They killed the guy and called me the moment it was done,” Devil said.

Pussy breathed out a sigh of relief.

“Gonzalez has taken one of our own from us. He killed Ashley, and he killed Jerry in front of us. He thinks he’s better than us. It’s time to show him how f**king little he actually is.”

Nodding, Pussy was ready. He was more than ready.

“Tomorrow, we’re riding out, and we’re going to start a f**king war with this ass**le.” Devil looked at all of them. “Tonight, you go to your woman. You make love to her, you f**k her, because tomorrow, we may not be coming home.”

The war had just begun, and Pussy couldn’t wait to take his vengeance on the bastard who’d put them in this position.

“How can you stand these private meetings?” Sasha asked.

Lexie sat on the bed with her two children sleeping beside her. When she entered, Lexie helped her to dress, making little Simon stare at the wall.

“You learn not to care about what they’re doing.”

Sasha heard the fear in Lexie’s voice.

“What’s going on?”

“If you can’t stand them having meetings like this, then you’re not going to like what I’ve got to say.”

“Please, tell me. I don’t like being kept in the dark. I’ve got enough darkness already.”

Lexie sighed. “Devil is a strong man. He’s a force to be reckoned with.” She stopped for a moment. “He’ll kill whoever poses a threat. This guy, this Gonzalez guy, came in, and it broke the club a little. My man’s been fighting to get himself back.”

“Has he?”

“The brick that was thrown at me, it has woken him up. Devil’s going to pick a fight, and I don’t know if he intends to come home alive,” Lexie said.

The door opened. “Devil’s waiting for you, Lex,” Pussy said.

“Can you help me with the kids, Pussy? I’ve not got the energy to move them.”

“Sure.”

Sasha listened to them moving around, wishing she could help. She stayed on the bed until Pussy returned.

“What’s going on?” she asked.

“Devil’s taking the fight to Gonzalez. We’re heading out tomorrow. You’re going to stay here until I get back.” He joined her on the bed.

She felt his body was na**d beside her.

“What about my mom?”

“Everything is fine. She checked into the clinic. Death and Curse are going to stay there to make sure everything is safe before they return home.”

“They’re in danger?”

“Some people want us dead, and we don’t want to end up dead. We’re going to try to make sure that doesn’t happen.”

She lay down on his arm, curling against him. “I don’t want anything bad to happen to you.”

“I won’t let it.”

“How do you know that?” she asked.

He ran a hand down her back, cupping her ass. “I know that I’ll fight to get back to you.”

She stroked across his stomach thinking about what he was saying. “Do you have to go?”

“Babe, I’ve got a score to settle. This Gonzalez bastard needs to learn not to f**k with us or the club. Otherwise bad shit’s going to happen.”

Sasha moved down to cup his cock. “Is there anything I could do to stop you from going?”

He covered her hand with his. “No, there’s not a damn thing you can do. I love you, Sasha, and I’m going to do everything in my power to get back to you. I need to do this, and you’re going to have to support me.”

“Is this about Ashley?” she asked, working from the base up to the root.
